The fine print, in plain English

• We ship within the United States only, for now.
• Every portrait is made to order. A Canvas Print usually ships about a week after you approve your preview. A Petite Oil or Hand-Painted Oil usually takes about 3–4 weeks after you approve, because it's painted by hand and needs time to dry.
• These are typical times, not guarantees. If something is running late, we'll tell you promptly and explain what we're doing about it.
• You'll see the shipping cost before you pay, and we'll email you tracking.
• Canvas Prints ship from our partner print studio in the United States. Oil portraits ship from our partner painting studio in Xiamen, China.
• Please double-check your address. If a portrait comes back to us because of an incorrect address, we'll work with you to send it again, which may cost extra.

Before you approve your preview

You can cancel at any time for a full refund. Your order includes one free round of changes to the preview.

After you approve your preview

Your portrait is made to order, just for you and your cat, so we can't take returns or give refunds for a change of mind once you've approved the preview.

If something isn't right

If your portrait arrives damaged, or doesn't match the preview you approved, we'll remake it or refund you. Email us a photo at hello@cobbleandquill.com within 14 days of delivery and we'll take it from there. Hand-painted portraits will always show small, natural differences in brushwork; those aren't defects.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and shipping address when you order.
• The photos of your cat you send us, and any notes about them.
• Your email address, and your cat's name if you share it, when you join the waitlist.

How we use it

• Your photos are used only to make your portrait. We share them only with the partner studio that paints or prints it.
• Your contact details are used to make and deliver your order and to talk with you about it. We share your shipping address only with the studio and carrier that deliver your portrait.
• Waitlist emails are used only to tell you when we open. Ask us to remove you at any time.
• We never sell your information.
• We'll never share your cat's photo or portrait publicly, for example on social media, without asking you first.

Website and payments

We use standard website analytics to understand which pages people visit. When orders open, payments will be handled by a secure payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete your photos and information, at any time by emailing hello@cobbleandquill.com.

Your photos

By sending us a photo, you confirm that you took it or have permission to use it. You keep all rights to your photos.

Previews and the finished piece

Your digital preview shows what we'll make. Hand-painted portraits are painted by a person, so brushwork and color will vary slightly from the preview. Canvas Prints reproduce the preview you approved, though colors can look a little different on canvas than on a screen.

Prices

Prices are in US dollars. The price you pay is the one shown when you place your order.

Timing

Delivery times are estimates. Holiday order-by dates are approximate, and we'll confirm exact dates when orders open.

We may update these policies as the studio grows. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
